An Introduction to Activities of CLT

Any activities that engage students in communication and attain objectives of the curriculum can be used in CLT.

Most of the activities are designed as tasks that are mediated through language or involve negotiation of information and information sharing.

According to Morrow, activities that are truly communicative  have 3 features in common:

1- Information gap-Opinion gap
2-Choice
3-Feedback

Role plays,games,surveys are commonly used in CLT. But there are 4 types of activities that they are very important and used as the key point of a CLT classroom. They are; Think-Pair-Share, Three Step Interview, Numbered Heads and Simple Jigsaw. These 4 activies are also collaborative learning strategies and the are used commonly in CLT classroom.
